Enhanced Mainframe CICS Interface with Search Functionality
• The system required users to manually scroll through multiple pages of data to find specific information, which was time-consuming and inefficient.
• The goal was to allow users to quickly locate the information they needed without scrolling through multiple screens.
• I developed a COBOL search feature and integrated it into the CICS screens. This involved modifying the screen layout, writing new search logic, and testing the functionality to ensure it worked seamlessly with the existing system.
• The implementation of the search feature drastically improved the user experience. Users could locate specific information within seconds, reducing the time spent searching by approximately 95%.
• This enhancement led to increased productivity and greater user satisfaction.
